This is what Amazon KDP did To me
It’s really hurting me!
In a turn of events that left me both frustrated and determined, I recently embarked on a new journey to share my passion for writing with the world. After composing a considerable number of unpublished books, I’ve opted to make them available by publishing them on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform anticipating a wide readership.
However, just days after their release, an unexpected email from Amazon kdp delivered a blow - my account had been terminated due to alleged creation of multiple accounts, a claim I vehemently deny.
The initial wave of anger and disappointment at the perceived injustice was undeniable. Not only had I invested significant time and effort into writing these books, but I had also allocated resources to designing them and had initiated promotional efforts through KDP. News of my account termination left me at a crossroads, questioning the validity of my efforts.
Seeking resolution, I reached out to Amazon via email, articulating my perspective and seeking to reverse their decision. The reply, albeit swift, reaffirmed their stance, leaving me in a state of uncertainty and frustration. As I navigated this challenge, a lingering thought surfaced: were these responses from humans or automated bots? This digital communication divide further fueled my determination to find a platform that would recognize my genuine efforts.
With an unwavering commitment to sharing my literary creations, I decided to explore alternative avenues for publishing. One such avenue was Gumroad, a platform that would allow me to directly connect with readers and present my works without the complexities that had arisen with Amazon. The decision to establish my own store on Gumroad was fueled by a desire for control over my content and the distribution of my books, unburdened by concerns of algorithmic misinterpretation.
It’s important to note that my passion for writing runs deep, a passion fueled by my own obsession with reading and storytelling. This love for the written word has not only led me to pen numerous unpublished books but also to secure two fulfilling writing gigs online, sources of income that have been a testament to my dedication.
With a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to share my accomplishments, I'm excited to officially introduce my Gumroad store to my supportive community.
